Jonathan has been a professional touring and session bass player for over 20 years. His musical career has spanned across various genres on both the live music scene and within the recording industry. He has played on countless records during that time. He’s played bass on JUNO Award-winning blues artist, Crystal Shawanda, past records. He is credited as a bass player on her “Church House Blues" album, which won Blues Album of the Year in the 2021 JUNO Awards and also her most recent album, “Sing Pretty Blues,” released in April 2025, which is nominated for a JUNO Award. 

He’s played live and recorded withMatt Ferranti, who has a growing fan base as a solo artist in addition to being Jelly Roll’s touring keyboard player. Jonathan’s bass lines have been recoded on records by independent artists Deeann DiMeo, The North Sound, The Rebel Eves, Myra Washington, Jam Young, Lil Timme (feat Young Buck), and Kfhox. 

He is a frequent session player for Harmony Hill Studios (Shelbyville, TN) and Gold Lion Studios (Ashland City, TN). He is an avid session player for Canadian-based record label, New Sun Music. He frequently plays bass for projects produced by Ted Perlman locally in Nashville. He also does a great deal of session work from his home studio, Fort Nox Studio, based in Old Hickory, TN, a suburb of Nashville. Jonathan has added full production into his wheel house since 2020, including engineering, mixing, and mastering records for artists, musicians, as well as for his own collaborative team known as Source Sound. He has been a long-time touring musician for most of his career, performing with everyone from T. Graham Brown, Brett Young, Mike Farris, Taylor Dayne, Macy Gray, Colbie Caillat, Gary Levox, Steve Cropper, Morgan Myles, Hannah Dasher, Brittney Spencer, & Dusty Black. He also worked as a musician on the television show, Nashville, for 3 seasons, as a bass player. Jonathan has made significant contributions to the recording industry and the music industry at large. 

He is also credited on the Wilson Brothers album which won a NIMA (National Industry of Music Awards) back in 2020 when they took home Country Duo of the Year. He most recently mixed and mastered an entire album for Nashville natives, Smash Brothers, comprised of Broadway Rapper and Top Notch. He also mixed and mastered “Anomaly,” by Kfhox this year, and is currently mixing and mastering her fourth studio album, set to be released in 2026. He’s also been playing bass on up-and-coming hip hop producer & artist duo, Khari and Montana’s, back to back singles, six in total for the last few months. He has also started laying bass for projects with Nelly’s DJ, DJ Trife. SAG & DJ Trife released, “Party All Night,” on November 21, 2025, in the most recent barrage of songs Jonathan has recorded bass guitar on.
